Vintage Aurora

Vintage Aurora ?

Hi everyone,  I really hope that the weather is being kinder to you than it
is here in the north east....I'm sat here writing up my blog post and my teeth
are chattering, I'm wearing a pullover and cardigan and I'm still freezing.
I think that I will go and make up my hot water bottle to see if that will
help warm me up. Where on earth has the Spring gone??

Anyhoo my post today is of a card that I made a few days ago. I thought that
I would try something a little different using one of Mitzi's Aurora Wings images,
I coloured up Miyabi Full Version using a selection of Blues and Grey
Pro/Fexmarkers to create the look of Japanese pottery.
I then used Tonic Studio's Forever Moments Crackle Base coat and Top coat,
once that was dry I brushed over the image with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo &
Antique Linen Distress Inks, and here's the result.....

The design papers are Papermania Capsule Collection by Jesse Edwards
I thought that they were just perfect for an Oriental Style card.

I distressed the papers in the same way as I did the image, using the same Tim Holtz
Distress Inks

Here's the before pic.

Here's a close up of the distressed, crackle glazed  image.

I hope that you like it as much as I liked making it.
I'm off now to go make up my hot water bottle and to pop on my
warm fluffy socks and I will catch up with you all again soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi everyone, I'm about to head off out for the day but
I just wanted to say "Happy St. Patrick's Day" to all my
Irish friends and to share this quick card that I made yesterday.
I know that it's not a very traditional card but I just loved
this cute kitty with his lucky four leaf clover.

To make this card I have used the following

Green Bazzill, Silver Mirri, Nitwit Design Papers, Tonic/Nuvo
Crystal Drops in Apple Green, Tonic/Nuvo Glitter Drops in
White Blizzard
And I coloured this cute Sami Stamps Kitty image with my Pro/flexmarkers

Hello Friend

Hello Friend

Hi everyone, I hope that you've all had a fabulous week, mine was spent
re-painting some large, baroque picture frames with some
"Earl Grey Everlong Paint" in the hope of creating a shabby chic style that will
hopefully compliment some pictures that I made some time ago but just never
found the time to finish them. Well the frames are now done and once I'm sure
that the paint is dry I will add the pictures. I will post pics here on my blog
once I've hung them.

Anyhoo, onto the card that I made today using this cute "Dilly Beans" image

To make this card I have used the following

Hunkydory Design Papers, Silver Mirri, Blue Polka Dot Organza Ribbon with Hand tied Bow,
Lemon & Blue Pearls and Pink Pearl Flower

I coloured the "Dilly Beans" image's face with Promarkers, I then
Paper Pieced the flowers using the same Hunkydory Design Papers
that I used for the card itself.

My Favourite Season

My Favourite Season

Hi everyone, I hope that you've all had a lovely weekend and are
looking forward to the week ahead. Spring will soon be here and
already we are seeing everything in our garden starting to burst into
life, the Crocus, Daffodils and Primroses are all starting to flower
and my miniature Weeping Willow tree now has buds which means
very soon there will be Pussy Willow upon it.

Which leads me onto my post for today, which is my DT card that I
made for our first Stella Team challenge over at

Aurora Wings Challenge Blog

and the Stella Team challenge theme is

My Favourite Season

To make this card I used
7x7 white base card, Gold Satin Mirri, Dusty Pink Bazzill, First Edition "The Promise"
Design Papers (which are so beautiful), Die cut frame from my stash, Dusty Pink Satin
Ribbon and Hand Tied Bow, Various sized Ivory Pearls, Pearl and Diamante brooch &
Sakura Stardust Jelly Roll Pen

I matted some Pink Bazzill 16cm x 16cm onto the Gold Satin Mirri 16.5cm x 16.5cm ,
I then matted the beautiful First Edition 13cm x 13cm  design Paper onto the
Pink Bazzill 13.5cm x 13.5cm and placed it on to the first, larger matt at an angle. Next
I matted more of the Pink Bazzill 10cm x 10cm card onto more Gold Satin Mirri
10.5cm x 10.5cm I then added foam pads onto the die cut frame and placed the
frame on top of the matt. ( I hope that you can just about see how I raised the die cut
frame up, my camera was having a Wobbler when I took the photo's and I just
couldn't get the lighting right LOL)

I then coloured up Mitzi's beautiful Orchids in the Rain image which can be found
in her Aurora Wings Etsy Shop, using the following Pro/Flexmarkers

Skin - Coral, Dusky Pink, Blush, Almond & Antique Pink
Hair - Satin, Tan, March Hare & Tawny Owl
Orchids - Antique Pink, Pastel Pink, Blossom & Pale Blossom
Leaves - Apple Cider, Marsh Green & Winter Spruce

I then added Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll to add an extra bit of interest.

I then added the ribbon and hand tied triple bow, I popped the brooch on top of the
bow, then added the pearls to the frame and card.

I hope that you will pop over to the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog to check
out what our lovely new Stella Design Team ladies have created to help
inspire you, we really would love for you to join in our new challenge and
tell us all what's your "Favourite Season"
